UK Gambling Commission geeft GGPoker geldboete!

Het bedrijf NSUS Limited, dat de website GGpoker exploiteert in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, een zware geldboete gekregen omdat er sprake is van nalatigheid in verantwoordelijkheid nemen ten aanzien van spelers die niet meer wilde gokken en er is te weinig gedaan tegen het witwassen. De boete die is opgelegd bedraagt £ 672.829 (€ 766.635) ook er is een officiële waarschuwing gegeven. GGpoker heeft een legale licentie van de UK Gambling Commission maar heeft zich onvoldoende gehouden aan de regels.

Zo heeft GGpoker mail gestuurd met pokeraanbiedingen en marketing aan spelers die zichzelf uitgesloten hadden via Gamstop. Totaal waren 125 ex-spelers de dupe hiervan waardoor GGpoker dus heeft gefaald in het nemen van maatschappelijke verantwoordelijkheid. Verder heeft GGpoker onvoldoende gedaan aan het herkennen en contact zoeken met probleemgokkers en vond doorspelen belangrijker.

Ook het controleren van zwart geld en terrorismefinanciering was beneden de maat. GGpoker maakte geen risico-analyses wanneer grote bedragen werden gestort en/of gewonnen en daarop weer opgenomen. Waardoor witwassen van geld mogelijk is.

Het uitdelen van boetes aan GGpoker is niet nieuw. Eerder volgde al andere online casino’s zoals provider White Hat Gaming, Casumo, Sky Betting, LeoVegas en Betfred. Deze trend zet zich door daar het kansspelbeleid in Groot Brittannië al een tijdje onder een vergrootglas ligt en veel commentaar krijgt van parlementsleden en de regering.

BetWay kreeg onlangs nog een boete omdat het een eigen logo op een wedstrijdkleurplaat voor kinderen had geplaatst. Voor deze misstap betaalde BetWay een bedrag van £ 408.915. Ook zijn vergunningen van enkele casino’s ingetrokken of op non-actief gezet.
